Kevin Hamlin to Pilot the No. 81 Dodge for MacDonald Motorsports in the O’Reilly 300

Fort Worth, Texas (April 1, 2009) - Kevin Hamlin will make his second start of the 2009 season for MacDonald Motorsports in the No. 81 D.H. Griffin Dodge. Hamlin is looking forward to racing this weekend at the 1.5 mile speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.

“I always love coming to Texas, it’s a great place and all the people are always really kind. The track is fun, but it’s tricky because turn two and turn four are so different from each other,” remarked Hamlin about starting in the O‘Reilly 300 on Saturday.

"Bristol didn't go as well as we hoped. We had some issues from the start of the weekend that we couldn't quite get figured out until the car was brought back to the shop and the D.H. Griffin team went through it. We're going to use it as a big motivational tool for this weekend. The guys have worked their tails off over the off week, which I really appreciate, and I'm going to do everything I can to pay them back with a good finish and a fun weekend," noted Hamlin.

Hamlin’s NASCAR career began in 1999 competing in the NASCAR Northwest Series. In his first five years he collected 12 wins, two championships in 2001 and 2002 and was named “Most Popular Driver” in both 2001 and 2004. In 2005 Hamlin was signed as a developmental driver for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates and is now a test driver for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing. In 26 NASCAR Nationwide Series starts Hamlin has recorded two top 10 finishes and a career-best Nationwide finish of seventh in 2007 at Gateway International Speedway.

“The team and I look forward to working with Kevin again for the O‘Reilly 300 at Texas Motor Speedway, the team has put in a lot of work in the shop over the past two weeks and we’re look for a solid run at Texas. We appreciate D.H. Griffin’s support for the No. 81 Dodge again this week,” remarked Randy MacDonald, owner of MacDonald Motorsports.
