D.J. Kennington, driver of the No. 81 Red Bank Outfitters Dodge, qualified 25th for the Sam’s Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a lap of 30.378 seconds at 177.760 mph on the 1.5-mile Tri-oval. 

“The No. 81 Red Bank Outfitters Dodge was really good,” said Kennington, who is currently 12th in the NASCAR Nationwide point standings. “The No. 81 machine picked up a lot of speed from practice yesterday.”
Scott Speed, making his first-career NASCAR Nationwide Series start, grabbed the pole with a time of 29.597 with at 182.451 mph.  The 32-time NASCAR Nationwide Series winner Kevin Harvick will start alongside Speed on the outside of row one, as he timed in at 29.609 seconds at 182.377 mph.  Greg Biffle (29.689 seconds at 181.886 mph) was third, while Denny Hamlin (29.719 seconds at 181.702 mph) and Kyle Busch (29.746 seconds at 181.537 mph) rounded out the top-five.  

The Sam 300 gets underway at 4:30 pm. EST on Sat., Feb. 28 with live coverage provided by ESPN2 beginning with its pre-race show at 4 p.m.
